We are fully committed to communicating and engaging with our stakeholders and it’s really important to us that we reach as many people as we can with the right information. The information should be factual, interesting, and easy to understand.
Throughout the duration of the new hospital design, construction and commissioning phases we communicated with NHS Dumfries and Galloway staff using the staff intranet, notice boards, newsletters, emails and face to face at a range of information sessions and meetings. In addition, we responded to a range of ongoing queries from individuals and teams out with information sessions and meetings.
Many of our staff were involved in the development and design of the new hospital and continued to be involved with specific aspects of the plans until the ‘big move’ and opening in December 2017.
Members of the New Hospital Project Team attended stakeholder group meetings throughout 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 to provide updates on progress made with the plans. They delivered a presentation and this was followed by a question and answer session which was an opportunity for members of the stakeholder group to talk in more detail with the Project Team about the plans for the new hospital.
The New Hospital Project Team exhibited a model of the new hospital design at local supermarkets and events, this provided further opportunity to talk to stakeholders about the plans.
